The Setup: Explore & Excel

Meet “Explore & Excel”, a magazine company that publishes magazines for Travel Vloggers. They have two magazines: Travel Magazine and Business Magazine. They are choosing a message to show to their existing customers.

Messages fall in three groups: Takeover, Weighted Random, and Defaults. First matching takeover message is always shown. If no Takeover messages match, a message is randomly chosen from the weighted random group. The weights for this selection may be hard-coded or may come from a model evaluation. If no messages match, a default message is selected randomly.

In this example, Explore & Excel has two takeover messages, two weighted random messages, and a default message. You can play around with the user profile and click “Run MOADE” to run the decision process.
